Terms of Reference -Project Coordinator

Introduction

The Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) – Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank and the EC to implement the project entitled: "Improving Engineers' Qualifications to Meet the Needs of the Labor Market in the Field of Energy and Smart Cities" and intends to apply part of this grant for selection and employment of highly qualified Project coordinator.

 

Assignment Objective

IUG is considering the selection of a highly qualified Project coordinator to be part of the staff responsible for implementation the project activities.

Under the general direction of the project manager, the Project coordinator will be responsible for:

 

 Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

1.      Ensure all activities are implemented accordance to project action plan.

2.      Produce progress, monthly reports, any update on each activity, achievements, and produce final reports.

3.      Coordinate with the different project staff, partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure better management and effective implementation of the project plan.

4.      Organize all related logistical arrangements for the planned activities with partners.

5.      Monitor project outcomes and to ensure all activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

6.      Maintain the project excellence and quality standards in a manner that is consistent with the university’s guiding principles, mission, and vision.

 

 

Essential Required Qualifications, Skills, knowledge and Competencies:

-          At least a Bachelor degree in Engineering.

-          Minimum 3 years of experience in project management and budgets monitoring.

-          Excellent professional and technical writing and reporting skills.

-          Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in both Arabic and English.

-          Good knowledge of word processing and basic programs such as Excel, Power point and Web browsing.

-          Solid communication and organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.

-          Ability to plan and coordinate the most effective use of staff, facilities, and resources to achieve successful project objectives.

-          Ability to work under pressure.

 

 

Place of work:

Housed within IUG and will be supervised by the Project Manager.

 

Time Frame:

The duration of the assignment is 25 months; the project coordinator shall work 5 days/week 8 hours per day

 

Deadline:

All interested candidates shall deliver their CVs to Project & Research Center no later than 3rd November, 2018.
